sb1 vs sb2
« on: January 05, 2011, 04:03:40 PM »
I was just about ready to send for a 30-06 bbl.  I bought this rifle with a 22 hornet bbl on it.  the serial number starts with NV.  just making sure that this is an sb2 that can be rebarrelled.

If it's a factory fitted barrel, yes, but there's no way for us to tell what the frame is by the serial number, only H&R can do that. If the last three or four digits of the frame serial number are etched on the left side of the barrel underlug, it's probably a factory fitted barrel. There are pics in the FAQs that show the difference between SB1 and SB2 frames.
