I've got 2 G2's that have been "tweeked" to around 2.5lbs, I did the work myself. I just took a little tension out of the sear spring. You can also purchase custom springs that will lighten the trigger, they're easy to install.
A bit trickier to do, but you can also purchase a heavier hammer spring that will crisp things up a bit and will reduce the chance of misfires, especially if you're using a hammer extension.
Also, some of the later G2's don't have the overtravel screw, but have the thicker rectangular block to install one. I went to the hardware store and purchased a #6 tap, a matching drill bit and a few #6 Allen-head set screws. Carefully drill and tap, install the screws with a little red Locktite.
I you purchase all of the stuff mentioned above and do the work yourself, you'll spend about $50.00. If you just tweek the sear spring, it will cost you nothing! Of course, none of the above modifications are "recommended" by Thompson Center or by the folks that own this forum, so proceed at your own discretion.
