Finally Connected!!! (PIC)
« on: December 31, 2010, 05:02:39 AM »
After almost two months of rain, ice, snow and more snow and single digit temperatures, it finally warmed up and the critters are stirring.  I finally connected on a coon.  Caught him in a mink set with a duke 1 1/2 CS.  Had it wired to a tree and did he tear up everything around.  The duke trap is nice and shiny now.  Things are looking up!  Bogmaster, you were right.  Enjoy the picture (click to enlarge).

b44mag, the trap was dyed and waxed; now it is nice and shiny because that big old boar coon really worked it over but the duke 1 1/2 CS held up.

Nice coon. We made a dozen or so sets today for coon. Cold weather had them shut down, but they ought to be moving really well in the next few nights. Those big old boer coon are going to be looking for a sweet looking she coon pretty soon as well. Even lured a few of the coon sets with K-9 gland lure. They seem to really like it when they have love on their minds.

It's that Kentucky heat wave that got them moving mike. Maybe if you set up a sun lamp at each trap--things would really get hot.
Glad you finally broke the ice.
 Happy New years.

I get them all the time around my outside chick brooder, has a 250 watt heat light, footprints every where, can't wait until spring! Nice catch there!
