The only SS H&R still made is the 45-70 Ultra Hunter.

Also, keep in mind that the recievers were not stainless, but nickel plated. They did ( do ? ) use stainless barrels, and possibly pins, etc.

The 45-70 Ultra has a stainless frame, all the others Handis had matte nickel frames as GatCat said, all have 416 series stainless barrels tho.

I take it they did not sell well as they no longer produce them. I was aware of the Nickel receivers, just curious if they still had them circulating it would seem to be an awesome platform for a truck gun or a good anytime anywhere camp gun. Thanks for all the replies. Much appreciated.

Now you guy have got me going again.  That stainless .45-70, cut to 18 inches and on a BC Carbine stock with a Limbsaver and a nine cartridge buttstock holder could be very happy living in the farm truck.  There ya go, spreading the germs again ;D
