I am really thinking about purchasing this gun in the 300WSM. Just wondering if anyone has any experience with it or knows anything about it. Thanks

Are you sure that it comes in the 300 WSM?

I read a very brief article on it recently.  Apparently it is essentially a Tikka with a heavy barrel and varmint style stock.

I've seen one in the store---but I'm also doubtfull it comes in that caliber either.

Operative word here being---Varmint.

Go to www.tikka.fi and look at the varmint stainless. IT DOES COME IN THE 300WSM AND MANY OTHER BIG CALIBURS. I never considered it before because I figured it only came in small caliburs since it was called a "varmint" gun. It is new for 2004 and has a different stock than the other models. I'm talking about the synthetic stainless model. It has a wider forearm and a thicker barrel as well as a larger magazine.

The one I saw was a .22-250---it has add on pieces on the forearm and a add-on cheek piece.

Was priced at $629 IIRC.

Just a word of warning...when looking up avaliable Tikka rifles be sure that you go through Beretta's websight. If you go direct to Tikka's websight you will get a list of all rifles manufactured...but not all are imported into the U.S.

Of course when I take my own advise I see that Beretta hasn't updated their own websight to show their 2004 product line...(way to be proactive!... ) But I ran into the same issue when trying to locate a SS/Lam WH in a .308. Tikka's site said they made it but it wasn't imported into the U.S.  :(
