Bucket Set Tip

We all know that buckets are not cheap but here is a way to get them for free...
While you're driving around, keep an eye on the side of the roads. You wouldnt believe how many buckets you can find that have fallen out of various vehicles and from those (who dont care about the enviroment) that just throw them out of the window as they drive.
This past year alone, I have acquired 33 buckets of various sizes. Not only was I picking these up for trapping purposes, but I was also helping clean up our enviroment.
I Trap And I Hunt. Therefore I AM!

I check out any new construction sites. Towards the end they are doing a lot of spakling and painting and they usually just pitch the buckets. My trapping partner has also been hitting up the local hardware store as well as tractor supply and lowes and they are happy to get rid of them.

I can say that I haven't picked up my share of buckets along the road and on the river. I don't always keep them all though as I'm sometimes l left wondering what was in them. So the "ick" factor gets me and I throw some. Others are so cleaned by being outside that their fine for most trapping purposes. When I need a good clean food grade bucket I have my son snag one from the store where he works. He is a meat cutter but the girls in the deli will save a bucket or two if he ask them. Hardest part is getting him to remember to ask. As for the square buckets that work so well for the coni sets. I haven't found a good consistant source here locally so last time I wanted some I just bought a dozen at convention.
I do think the square buckets waste less space when you storing things in them. 160s sure seem to stack in them nicely.
