 Hope her ankle heals quickly.
I was on my northern beaver line a few years ago.I called my wife each night to check on how things were going. She said she had fallen at the gas station and her ankle was hurting a lot. She finally went in the next day ,and her ankle was broken. She was able to get along on her own for another week, till I was done trapping.

We have just set a record for Dec. snowfall--and we have a week to go. We have had right around 4 feet so far. I do all the shoveling, just dug my old roof rake out of a snow drif in my boat. Now I have to find some kind of pole to attach it to. I lost the old one years ago on my trap line--as I was using it for a push pole.

Fish, you got me crying LOL. I have to wear hip boots to try and stay dry and some of the piles are a lot deeper than waste high.
Just dug out the connectors and poles for my big tarp system that I use when doing out side conventions. Was able to get my roof rake connected to it--these hippers, snow and ladders are dangerous.

fish
It's never fun getting hurt on the ice, hope she heals up fast.
Snow here is deep too and then we have all the melt water Tom sends down to look forward to. River has been high all year and we are still about a foot higher than what would normally be this time of year. So much snow on top the ice means there is over flow and everything is sloppy under neith. It's not that we haven't had all this before heck it's WI. But last few years winter haven't been so bad so we got spoiled. The weather man is saying it might make the 40s later this week, so the snow will settle and lots of roofs will clear. But then everything turns to a big sloppy mess and ice after that. January is just around the conrner and that usually means the days of stiffling subzero cold.
What do ya do?
