What pistol / revolver will be a C&R next??

The next Pistol inline to be a C&R is the CZ70 i believe.  But we may see more maks become C&R's too down the road soon too.   I really don't see anything else inline for C&R status unless its modern guns that are getting older now.   CZY

I think the good buys right now are the;

CZ82 in 9mm mak Czech surplus military pistol DA first shot with 2 12rd mags/cleaning rod, laynard,holster(some had it i think)
Russian nagant revolver in 7,62 nagant with cleaning rod/holster
Yugo M57 tokarev w/holster
German walther P1 w/holster

I think the yugo m57 tokarev and the czech cz82 are the best buys right now if you still haven't got one yet.  If we collect i know we need them all anyway.  CZY

Went ahead and sent off the paperwork to get my C&R (again - 2nd time I've let it lapse) today.  We'll see if the supply of P-1's and M57's hold out till it comes in.  I'm holding out hope - the CZ-82's and Nagants (both of which I managed to snag) seem to have lasted a good long while, so we'll see. 

I do think the area of cheap mass imports of surplus sell-offs is about at an end though.  It seems like most handguns are getting surplused faster now.  A large batch of CZ-75's just got imported, but they're not C&R and the model is still in production so not much hope there.  Same with the Israeli Hi Powers.  Not C&R and not likely to be.  Both are also going for over $300 (as well as the Walther P-1's), as compared to ~10 years ago when there was a good supply of various surplus guns for $100-150.  I still think the CZ-52's for $99 that were available when I first started collecting were about the best bargains to be found. 

Oh well.  The license don't cost much so maintaining it for the sake of discounts and the occasional bargain may be worth it.  And who knows.  We might see some mass sell-offs from pistols that are simply 50+ years in ago from some poorer countries that don't replace their equipment that often.

I assume the Polish P64, and then the German P1 pistols were  added under the "historical figure, period, or event" clause. Both my P-64, and the P1 I just got are not 50 years old. With that being said, I wonder if anybody is trying to get the Israeli, or Argentine Hi-Power certified C&R?

My heart hopes so...my bank account doesn't!

With some of the south american pistols as soon as they became a C&R that is the time to grab them, because a little time after they all went sky high for some reason.  So i would watch out for the next c&r very closely.  CZY

Won't necessarily be anytime soon (if ever, short of the automatic at 50 deal).  CZ-52's still aren't C&R in the 9x19mm variant.

Personally, I think CZ-75 Pre-B models have a good chance of making the list soon (whether or not all the surplused lots are sold out by that time are another issue ).  There have been instances of a gun being made C&R due to their country of manufacture no longer existing (I think the CZ-82 may have actually made it under that premise).  All Pre-B CZ-75's are marked "Made in Czechoslovakia" which no longer exists. 

Heck from a perpsective of historical significance and collectibility I can't possibly see why the PHP MV guns haven't made the list.
