What's really weird is that the old saying is true:

cold gets stronger"

I was married 47 years ago.  I always say I selected the longest night of the year for self-serving reasons.  As I recall it was also about 20 below zero and my power steering broke on my 58 Chevrolet.

Yes, it really happened.  Cold days and hot nights in Dubuque, IA.  That was a long time ago.

BigVarmit,

I am 20 miles west, southwest of Toledo, about 55 miles from the Indiana border.  I have never heard of the Convoy Wind Farm, will search later and see where it is.

BB, You are a ways in. The wind farm is a little north and west of Van Wert.

Gonna stretch quite a ways to the north when done. Lotsa windmills.

It's called Blue Creek Wind Farm I think.

The days might be getting longer but I swear the years are getting shorter.
I remember back in school in the 60s and early 70s I used to think, gosh, will summer break ever get here.
Now, I say it seems like I just got done pushing snow and here it is again!
Man, time really flys the older you get, and I hate it.

You're absolutetly right, Longtom! The years seem to fly by faster all the time and there's not much I can do to slow it down.

Since we are waxing nostalgic ( or a little morbid), I was looking wistfully at my retirement planning information the send out at work. I have 3 years to go, and the Soc Security calculator says I have a life expectancy of 21.8 years. At the rate time is passing, that does not seem very long. No one is in good health right up until the end, so I figure I probably have 15 years left...... 15 gardens, 15 deer, dove and duck seasons, 15 summers to golf. when you look at it from that perspective , I am beginning to choose a little more carefully with my time, and put off things I don't want to do in favor of what I do. Time to quit stockpiling some of my ammo and actually use some. Merry Christmas amigos.

The distinction we all need to make; is it a bucket list?, or is it a 'kick the bucket' list?

The older I get, the smarter my parents were ;), They always told me the years would speed up as I got older.  (Among other things)  Now, can someone tell me who that old fart is that's staring out at me from the mirror every time I look at it? >:(   I'm gonna have to go another 8 years to the age of 66+ before I retire :'(, Then days of reloading and shooting at the cabin. :-*  DP
