Pentax on a Handi
« on: December 16, 2010, 01:10:37 PM »
I saw the Pentax 4x32 that gr8fuldoug is selling on another site (starts with an E). The price seems good and I like the rangefinding reticle. Are any of you guys using this scope or any other Pentax scope and how do you like them. For the price I'd like to pick up a couple for my Handi's but only if they're "hammer friendly" and have good eye relief.
Let me know please guys.
Thanks.

I have a 4x12 gameseeker that was on my 25/06 handi before I sold it. It's a good piece of glass for the cash and I had it mounted with LOW PRW mounts.

Thanks Jon... I was hoping it could go in low or medium rings.

You can set the scope where you can just slide a sheet of paper in between the hammer and scope with the lows. At that point, the eye relief was perfect for me.

Spanky,
I have two Game seekers. A 4x32 and a 4x42. They are handi friendly and I would recomend them as a cheaper option. Stay away from the variables in this line! A friend bought a couple and both where JUNK!!  Mine are fixed power, clear and brite. I have the 4x on my 30-30 and the 6X on my 223.

The scope is mounted in LO PRW Leupold rings. It would be fine in Warne los as well.

I have like a 1.5 to 5 Gameseeker with a 20 mm objective and 40 mm occular on my homemade 45-70 ultra hunter.  Good glass and I really like the bullet drop ballistic reticle.  Scope looks a little rear heavy - but works just fine.
