Recently bought a Thunderbolt in 45 Colt. At the gun shop I thought I could see some marks in the bore, but it was so filthy out of the box I couldn't tell. I took it home to clean it, and you could feel a patch actually snagging on the bore near the muzzle. When clean, you can PLAINLY see some pretty severe burrs in a ring around the bore. I was going to try and lap them out myself, as I have had too many bad experiences with factory repairs. I did decide to send it back though. Big mistake. I sent a nice letter, stating the bore damage as my biggest complaint. I also said reducing the trigger pull would be very nice of them, ( it was about 12 pounds or so). Well, neary 3 months later, (SERIOUSLY!), I got it back, with a letter, with the same crap, (always clean your gun, which was spotless when returned, a note saying no problem could be seen with the bore, HA,HA! even my dealer who is nearly blind could see it!, and another note that said their remedy was "adjusted". I looks to me as if nothing was done, other than to put 2 good scratches by the loading gate, and drop it on the steel butplate and put a nick in that! I wish Brazil wasn't so far away, I would have liked to have personally " deposited " this thing. My friend also has a 4" 357 Taurus that binds up tight when firing DA. Nice choice for a protection gun. I will never purchase another Taurus, based solely on the insulting manner they treated me in this return. I traded this junker for a Rem 700 synthetic in 300 Win. mag. Lost about 150$, but got Taurus out of my life forever.
