Once again, the troubling question arises: How can someone come to these shores, accept the hospitality and bounty of a new country, swear fealty to its people and Constitution, then plan to commit mass murder in the name of religion?

And once again, leaders of a local mosque – this time in Portland, Oregon – warily attempt to reassure their fellow Americans that one disturbed and dangerous young Muslim does not speak for their community. The alleged plot interrupted by the FBI was shocking even in an age in which we have become inured to indiscriminate terror: Mohamed Osman Mohamud, a 19-year-old Somali immigrant, was arrested Friday night on charges that he tried to detonate a van he believed was filled with explosives in the middle of a city square during a crowded Christmas tree lighting ceremony.

Easy answer, one word, ( islam). I've asked several times before and ask again. can anybody give me a good reason not to ban entry to America from all the godless nations??? Should they be made citizens??? No such critter as an American muslim. POWDERMAN.

Though I live in WA, I am only a few miles east of Portland. Very unordinary there from my point of view. Lots of folks with bumperstickers that say "Keep Portland Wierd". Also it is listed as an amnesty city. Their current mayor is really something (

), their past mayor had an intern that was linked to one of the last terrorist investigations that started when one of our county deputies spotted middle eastern looking men (they were) shooting just off a state highway. Yep, terrorist ties. Also the same mayor would not let police arrest an eco-terrorist, who is now in fed pen for vandalizing and committing arson (Tre Arrow). I HATE portland, very rarely do I cross the columbia river. Actually I hate all big cities anymore. But especially portland orygun.

I just copy/pasted this over from the "Portland Bomber" thread. Portland is a very mixed up place, there are good folks over there, but I gotta wonder why they stay. Just way to PSYCO-CERAMIC LIBERAL for me.

One thing that burns me; I heard a snippet of an interview with some politico lady (wish I got her name so I could send an email) who said...

"Well, it looks like the FBI may have done their job this time. We'll have to wait and see if any laws were broken or rights violated during their investigation though."

I rarely use foul language or yell at my car radio, but I broke down this time.

Since 9/11 we've either been lucky, or our security measures have more, or less worked. Not to diminish the efforts of the FBI and others, but I think we've been lucky. Sooner, or later the muslim terrorists will be successful and it will be the unwillingness of our politicians to do what has to be done that will be the blame. And for that, they (the politicians) should be hung for treason.

What should be done? Simple--stop all immigration and get rid of all muslims who are not citizens and those who are citizens, especially those who were foreign born, must be watched, very carefully. Or we could do what FDR did and put em all in a pen.

I missed getting the "muslims are afraid" (loosley paraphrased)article off of the local Yahoo news headline. Seems they "deserve" protection now. They are worried after a small mosque fire the other day in Portland, OR. Guess they don't like it when "the west" fights back. They shouldn't worry, our courts and politicos have passed hate crime laws to deal with people who aren't of the liberal statist agenda. muzzies cry for holy war until it comes to visit them and then its the end of the world, boo hoo poor us, I wonder how evil al jazeera is making the west look now? Guys like this look at our generosity in accepting them as refugees from the scumholes that they lived in as weakness. They were taught to hate us and we have given them access to us on our shores. If you notice, there are no Muslim nations accepting Palestinians, Bosnians, or Somali refugees as citizens, they just put them in camps for the Western nations to support. Previous waves of immigrants were happy to escape to the US and wanted to become American. These want to change America into whatever scumhole thay came from.

My wife's cousin befrended a Somali family and was helping them. Then she finally came to the realization that they were only suing her to get free stuff. They had no intention to be Americanized.

I hope that somebody comes up with a legal way to send them back to where they came from. Let their Muslim buddies bear the cost of supporting them and let's see how long they will last. It's probably too late for that since the Liberals will do all in their power to block that plan. And the militants among them have probably learned all they need to know about us.

TM7 brings up a good point. I would like to know how a 19 year old "muzzy" could have pulled off this attack with out help. Did the FBI supply the van, 5 barrels of "expolsives", the rigging and the cell phone to set it off?
Something stinks in the reporting. The FBI states that al-quida was not involved. Then who was?
His father was the one who alerted the FBI. I'm not knocking the FBI, but will wait to hear the details on this one.
I am thankfull that innocent lives were not taken.
As far as the reason for his hatred of us can be found in their fundamental religious beliefs.

Would you rather that he had contacted real terrorists (not undercover FBI agents) to supply a real bomb?

This so-called "entrapment" goes on regularly after someone has indicated that they want to hire a hit man. Then they find out that the person they wanted to hire is an undercover cop. Generally speaking, the individual is convicted of conspiracy to commit murder.

Only difference here is that thousands of innocent lives were saved, not just one.
