7-30 Waters 14 inch w/brake
« on: November 25, 2010, 08:09:19 AM »
I have a G2 w/ super 14 7-30 Waters barrel.  I had a muzzle brake put on, which makes the barrel exactly 16 inches with the brake on.  They did a great job on the brake.  As a result, I am setting it up as a carbine.  A couple of questions..where can I get a forend that will fit this barell screw configuration that is like a carbine forend, or, are all of  the screw configurations the same regardless of barrel length?  Also, I do not reload and cannot find ANYONE with this ammo in stock.  Anyone have any idea where I can by ammo..reloaded, etc.?  Also, what would you estimate the range limitations to be with this setup?  I'm liking it for hunting from treestand where compact is important and coyote's medicine.

Federal is the only one making factory ammo. A few Local shops here in VA stock it .I got lucky and found and old gun shop going out of business and got several boxes for @ 15 bucks a box.I have only shot mine on paper and hope to take it hunting tomorrow for deer.Good luck..These are suppose to be good deer loads..
