If you want this rifle to retain any collector's value, then please quit shooting it.
I too often see people take a nice example of an antique firearm, worth perhaps $2,500.00, and then decide it would be fun to shoot, and then fool around with shooting it several times, clean it up, screw it up, and end up with a firearm worth $1,000.
Every time you thoroughly clean an anitque firearm, you are destroying its original patina, and destroying its collector's value. Everytime you add a scratch to the piece, and everytime you bugger a screw head, you are destroying its collector's value.
