30 Carbine Barrels

I've been nosing around for a 30 carb barrel for my Contender but they seem virtually non-existant.  Were they a limited run or is there some other reason?  Seems odd.  BTW, I am referring to 10" length.

      It's been quite a numbers of years since TC chambered factory barrels in 30 carbine, but they weren't a "limited" run.  Well, limited by demand I guess.  Give Ed's TC's a call.

I've called Ed 3 times about 9mm and 30  carbines barrels.  He told me, about only time he gets them is when he buys a collection of barrels. Guess those that have them keep'em and use 'em.    3leg

I have a .30 M1 Carbine barrel for my Contender that T/C's Custom Shop did about 3 years ago.  It was a shooter right out of the box.  My favorite bullet is the RCBS 30-115 cast over 5 gr of Accurate#5 or 3.6 gr of Red Dot.
The Custom Shop is closed for the time being.  I had another barrel made and it was a mess,poor workmanship. The last 3 barrels I have bought have been from Match Grade Machine and I have been as happy as a clam at high tide.

If you can't find a 30 carbine you might consider a 300 Whisper. May not do quite as well with the 110 or 115gr bullets as the 30 carbine but mine does excellent with 125gr on up to 240gr.
