I have had one of the hardest bowhunting seasons to date, as I also hunt from the ground or blind. But it has been the most rewarding season of all, and today I sealed the deal in honor of my friend and fellow trad bower Rick Ricks who passed away from cancer this last year.
I had not expected to get close enough to arrow a whitetail, having my son along. As it is more difficult stalking with one person, let alone a second one along. But my son has learned to stalk very quietly, and as you can see him being along did not hurt me one bit. I am just so stoked that he was along, and got to see to see a trad bow kill first hand.
This season had more close encounters and misses, but so rewarding I would not trade it for anything.
