Traditional, percussion 1st, closely followed by my flinter, simply cause I own more percussions that I do flinters, but that might change after Christmas. RR :D

Modern inline for deer and elk but I'm actively looking for a sidelock .32 for squirrels, rabbits and for plinking.

:-D   Seeing that I have more that 30 of these in caplock and flint...........it is a hard question for me.  I think it is which ever fits my mood just prior to going hunting.  I am addicted to the caplocks for accuracy to 100 yards,and the flinters for the witchcraft I had to learn to really get into em.  I would have to say the MOST fun is two rifles that I have,both twins except one is flint,and the other is caplock(.50 cal).           stay safe.............King

Side caplock, then flint.  I have an old GPR in .50 RB and a Dixie Tennessee Mountain Rifle, also in .50.  With the latter I have the conversion flintlock that I've used quite a bit but it mostly only goes to the range.  I put the capper on it to hunt because it's soooo wet around here.

When it's resting on the wall I put on the flint kit - just kinda like it that way...

In order of preference; flintlock, then flintlock, then flintlock. In a pinch the flintlock will be O.K. I suppose if all else fails the flintlock will do.

I would have to say that my favorite has been a TC Firehawk in .54 caliber.  I have hunted successfully with it for years.  THAT SAID..........  I really like my Cabelas Hawken in .54 that I built from a kit.  I browned the barrel deeply and the stock is gorgeous if I must say so myself.

I get a lot of joy out of shooting it and look forward to hunting with it in the future.  I certainly get alot more comments regarding this rifle at the range than I ever did with my FireHawk.  

I purchased a Knight Wolverine in .50 caliber recently and I am impressed with it to.  That said, the fire hawk is going to be the one to go to make room for it as I can't part with my Hawken.  So I guess the real answer to this question is that the Fire Hawk has been my favorite hunting rifle and the Hawken is my favorite to take to the range.  Is it as accurate as the Fire hawk?  No, at least not yet anyway.  That said, I can't part with that hawken and I won't really feel bad parting ways with the Fire hawk now that I have a modern Knight ML to replace it with.  FWIW

My miracle lock!  

Some people think it ignites the powder by striking flint and steel together.  Every time I light it up though it's a pure miracle.  Absolutely, 100% divine!  

This season, I had the pleasure of twice standing over a dead deer wondering, "what hath God wrought".

TC Hawken 50 Cal.  ------traditional
TC/Bullberry 45 cal encore----------in-line

I have 3 more traditionals (percussion)  and 2 more inline rifles + an inline pistol.

But my most favorite is the TC Encore/45 Bullberry with 4.5x14 Burris Ballistic plex scope with wide benchrest forearm--I belive this is just like the one Old Dan Boone used.

It must be my Hopkins & Allen .45 Underhammer (Are you reading this, SavageT?).  I have had other muzzleloaders alongside her, but they keep getting replaced while the underhammer has stayed with me 35 years now.  Of course that may be because nobody else has wanted to buy it...
