Went to Bud's today, they were having a sale on Taurus's..dealer cost.  Picked up a 24/7 DS compact in a .45 for $319 tag, tax, and title.  Brought it home and shot 6 rounds of my flat nose ball and it didn't hiccup, just spit them out and at 25 yds in about a 6" circle.  Not bad considering I'm not used to the Taurus trigger.  It's different.  I was pretty up on it by shot no. 4  Can't wait to shoot a bunch through it.  The flat nose stuff is the acid test, if it will eat that, it will eat liver and onions covered with lime yogurt.
If I hadn't bought a defective S&W (the fellow's going to take it back and nice about it, too) I'd a bought the full size too.

Well, having shot some more, I can say I'm still happy with it with two exceptions.  It came with the older style mags.  One works great, the other not as great. I can cure that with another couple of mags which I was going to get anyway.
But the main thing I've found is the mag release.  It doesn't stick out far enough to depress with my thumb.  Takes two hands.  Anybody know of a cure for this other than technique?  I don't know of any aftermarket parts for them yet.
Oh, keeps em in the black at 25.  Killed several milk jugs, may they rest in peace.
