9.3x62 hornady interlock for elk

any input on this bullet for elk ! (286 GR)  also have barnes and nosler  ,but have not developed a good load and feel for them. hornady giving very good groups off of bag at 300 yds .  maybe on the wrong forum for this input question . if I am sorry!!

I'm sure that bullet should be fine.  I have used the nosler on moose and can vouch for it being a very good bullet.  I haven't had a chance to use the barnes mainly because I have been so happy with the Nosler bullet.  The hornady should work fine.  The only bullet I would aviod for big game is the 270gr speer.  I have found them to be very soft,  failed to exit a moose neck at 15 yards.  Bullet completely came apart.

At an MV of around 2500 fps I am not surprised at that range.
What is the point of Life if you can't have fun.

I'd expect the 286 Hornaday to do just fine on an elk, from just about any angle.

When you get your elk tell us about it!

It WILL work great.  I shoot a 270 gr Hornady out of my 375 Ruger at 2600 fps with awesome results, and a full freezer as proof.

When you are shoting bullets that fat and heavy you really don't need to worry much about the terminal effect.  Just keep the impact velocity up to a level where the bullet will expand reliably.
