Are there any mail order places to get a 209x50? I was wondering since its a blackpowder rifle i could get one without an FFL. Just a thought-Tad.

You could buy a barrel through the mail, but not the complete rifle.

It is my understanding that the Encore cannot be purchased without a background check, even if it is equipped with the ML barrel. The reasons are because the centerfire barrels can be purchased without a background check, so you can see how easily a person could put one together. At least that's how it is here in Alabama. I had to wait for the background check before I could take mine home.

Check your local laws carefully!  How ironic that in Komifornia you can buy a G2 209x45 rifle get your receipt and DONE!!!!  No 10 or 14day waiting period, no FFL paperwork.  Yes, I've bought 2 now from different dealers.  Same thing both times.  But wait.... you can't buy the G2 pistol.  It hasn't been drop tested at $5K per configuration like these dumb yutz's want.  Not sure about the regular rifle yet, hadn't tried to get one of them.

Point is everybody treats Black Powder differently, talk to your local FFL for the low-down!
