Not at all - just hit the X button in upper right hand corner of the ad.  If it helps to pay for the band width we're using, I'm all for it.

Abandon away Autorim.  For the rest of us, it pays the site fees to keep it free for us to use.

Autorim:  sorry you feel that way; the pop-up adds have a real benefit for the website.  Hope you decide to simply hit the 'X' and close it out rather than to go elsewhere.

 ;D ;D ;D

While I agree with the others on the sponsership, I belive the add's may "turn off" the new members. Solutions to try are to "let the add play out"--or to "refresh the screen" (Read two copies of GBO open w\one minimized)

I don't think that it is too bad on the whole as my right hand knows exactly how much distance to move for the left click and the shutdown...it is kinda like the tendancy your sa revolver has to automatically recock it'self after firing ;D

I would think this subject has about been wore out. Most of us don't have a problem with it. Good luck in your search for a site as good as this one.

I really enjoy this site and I understand the necessity of ad revenue. Like my revolver shooting - I need to practice more on the X.

I have an X on the dashboard ad, but not on the other two.
GB and matt both tell me it's there, but it's not.
I'm staying though.

They don't bother me on my desktop, but on the mini laptop when traveling, they are a real pain. They take up the whole screen and you cannot access the X until they are thru with their sales pitch. So when I'm on the road I stay away from GBO and catch up when I get home.

I think the x is there. Sometimes it is very hard to see. I know at times i have to look real hard for it.

When you magnify (125% or higher) on a Notebook, the X is very hard to find.

The site isn't operated for free.  Maybe instead of the huge ad and inconvience, YOU could provide the funds.

I find them very annoying, but I guess they are necessary. I just hope that they are getting paid an appropriate amount for how intrusive they are.

They sure make the X hard to find.
No good reason for that, makes me curse the product.  ::)
I see the reason for adds just not annnoying adds. Most will agree that pop-up adds are annoying.

Maybe it's just my setup on the laptop but I can usually hit the x and have it closed before the video even has time to load.

I don't have a problem with the popup ads as I just click them off.  What I find odd is when I take a glance at all the different forums here is how few the posts are for having 37005 members.

Maybe when the advertizers realize they don't sell any Gov motors trucks or crossbows because they bother me they will move on. The internet exisisted before the pop up.

Yes there may be that many members, but, once you become registered you can not un-register I believe there are not more than 100 active members. Register to view a clasified ad and you are amember for life.

Boy , you missed that one by a mile , just look at the bottom of the forums and see just how many people were on today .
