Synthetic Stock for my Tikka
« on: December 03, 2003, 07:40:10 AM »
I'd like to purchase a synthetic stock for my m695 7mm Rem. Mag. Tikka I bought this summer. Currently it is a stainless/laminated rifle but I'm too hard on the laminated stock and would like to replace it with a synthetic version. Anyone know where I can buy one? I'd even be happy with a used one. I tried all the manufacturers for aftermarket stocks but none have one so looks like I'll have to get a Tikka stock from either Beretta or online. If anyone has a link to a new/used synthetic stock please let me know.

Thanks!

It's gonna be tough.  You aren't the first person who has asked this question.  I think that someone asked a similar question, but he wanted to switch to a laminated stock.  I think he got a special boyd stock.  In your situation, however, it is the opposite.  I really don't know where you can get a genuine Tikka synthetic stock - new or used.  I would imagine that you should call Beretta directly and ask them.

Thanks. Ya, I've posted this question here before and got links to the aftermarket makers but they all came up empty. Not enough production numbers for them to create one yet without making it a custom (read:expensive) order.

I've got an email in to Beretta as well as one of the gun brokers that had some wood stocks for sale for the Tikka's. We'll see what comes up.

Yea, spending $$$$$$ sounds about right.  A normal McMillan stock sells for about $350.  I'd imagine that a "semi-custom" stock for the Tikka would at least be more.  Still, McMillan makes the best stocks out there.

Even if I wanted to spend for a McMillan the turn-around time is 6 months to a year. I might have to though if I can't find an alternative. All I really want is a plain factory synthetic stock though. Thanks so far.

Gosh, Power, I feel so bad for ya that I just wanna give you my Tikka synthetic stock.  Problem is, then I'd be in the same situation you are.

Thanks both of you. I've replied to your PM so it looks like my problem is solved. Zachery, you better keep the one you have or else you'll be forced to shoot the 20 other Tikka's you own :-D

This will be nice. I can have a factory synth. stock to beat up the rifle and if I ever sell it (Heaven's forbid) I'll have the pretty laminated stock to go with it. Unless I decide to sell the factory laminated gray wood stock.
