make the notch that engages the hinge pin part of an insert that could be moved by placing shims behind it instead of around the pin. The pressure would drive the pin against the insert, there would be no stress in other directions so it could be held in place by a small screw, or possibly even just magnetic. The shims could be 3 or 5 thousandths that would allow one to adjust the fit on any barrel by various combinations .
