Sight screws

If I replace the rear sight on my 45-70 handi with a more traditional sight, I need to know the thread size and exact spacing to use the existing holes in the barrel. I am not that great at measuring such things. Can somebody please fill me in? ???

Screws are 6-48 on current models and there are limited sights available that fit the BC.  I have one and found good data here:
