New Handi caliber
« on: August 17, 2010, 02:36:16 PM »
Anyone have any idea if there is going to be any new calibers introduced? I would love a 7mm-08 or how about a .260.

They already offer the 7mm-08, have for many years, but don't hold your breath on the 260, it's been on the wish list for years too, see it in the FAQs.

For the most part, the "wish list" should be called the "unfulfilled wish list".

Hard to imagine that there's a company that has a high demand for their products, and seem to drag their rumps in getting the products out, if ever.  Call it arrogance, or whatever, but I will not be buying any new barrels or complete guns unless the price is exceptionally good. I have 5 of their guns and another 7-8 additional barrels and are happy with them all, but it irks me that they seem..."arrogant".  I for one, have come to the conclusion they don't need my money.

well was at a show yesterday and picked up a new 7-08 pallet wood stock for 150. I guess new dies and bullets will be in order.

A 6.5x55 and 9.3x74R would cover most of my sporting needs, but that's not likely to happen.

Great deal on the 7mm-08 for $150!!! I have been wanting and looking for one for a while now, just a barrel would be great as well. For now my 7mm shooting will be confined to my Handis in .280 Remington and 7X57 Mauser. The 7mm's are really great guns and they all seen to shoot great...<><....:)

Now that's something I would like to see!  ;)  No, wait maybe I wouldn't ..... when some clown touches off a 50 BMG round out of a 7 lb Handi....it doesn't take much imagination to understand what 12,000 ft/lbs of energy would do on both ends...... Frankly I think it would take an orthopedic surgeon to reattach the shoulder and an EMT squad to remove the exposed hammer from the forehead....  :( :-[ :P

I'm thinking the 65kpsi and .804" case head is going to destroy the barrel and/or frame, rendering any life saving efforts for injury from recoil on the shooter a moot point, even if the stock was made of lead,  he might just as well pull the pin on a grenade.  :(

So then a .577 T-Rex would be out of the question?

My culled down Handi's are the 45-70, and then I have a few others to keep it company...357 Mag/Max. .45 LC/.454 Casull Carbine, .243 Ultra, and 20 gauge Tracker II.
