I just got a new Contender Hunter 14" and scoured the local shops for a set of dies so I could afford to shoot it.  The only thing I found was a single RCBS class G small base die so I picked it up.  I have 358 win and .357 mag dies so I should be able to seat my bullets no problem, I'm just wondering if I'm ruining my brass prematurely and hurting my accuracy with a small base die.  I want to load up some light loads I can practice with without undue stress on me and the gun.  Can anyone comment on this??? Please...and thanks.  ;)

I have been loading 223 rounds for my contender pistol in a small base die for nearly twenty years.
You may lose a little brass life but I dont think that this has happened to me.
There are two schools of thought about sizing for accuracy. The well known one is to size as little as possible. The other is to use small base dies to obtain absolute uniformity. If you lose any accuracy is should be such a small amount that you wouldnt notice it. Enjoy your new barrel!
