They affect patterns when shooting shot. They come off when shooting anything else.

TC's choke tubes have a tri-fold purpose.
1- Stop the rotation of the shot and capsule inparted by the rifling in the barrel.
2- Shred the plastic capsule in order to release the shot.
3- Shape the pattern of the shot.

You must remove the choke tube to shoot bullets.
