Question: Contender Sights - pics

I have several sets of these (see pics).  Never have seen these sights on the 10" barrels.

Questions:
-Do these sights have a name? 
-Do not see a name on them...made by T/C?
-What length barrels are they used on?
-What's the intended use?  Target shooting?  Hunting?  Steel targets?
-If selling them, what would I ask?  I've not seen them offered for sale.

     Most refer to them as "side-saddle sights".  Sold by TC.  Don't know if they made them themselves or farmed them out.  I'm sure of the exact date(guessing late 70's to mid 80's), during the hey-day of silly-wet shootin'.  I find them quite useful on a barrel where you need a capability of large sight adjustment...i.e....I use one on my S-16 45-70 barrel that i use primarily for cast booolets and black stuff.

They were furnished on the original Super 14 barrels, which began production in 1978. They were only on those 14" barrels. They were replaced by the top mounted rear sights with replaceable, different height blades in either 1980 or 1981. I found them to be neither as repeatable nor as easy to adjust as their replacements, when they were used in an environment of frequent changes, such as silhouette matches.

I, too, always called them "side saddle" sights.

Thanks for the help identifying them!  I can see why they were called "side-saddle sights"!

I do not need 6-7 sets of these sights (actually, I don't need any) as I just shoot 10" barrels and my only 14" has a scope.

Do you think offering them up for let's say $20-25 shipped will get anyone's attention?

    If I didn't already have several sets, I certainly would be interested at that price.  Post an add in the classifieds and see what happens.

These 'saddle sights' were at first [I believe] made by Williams and they say 'Williams' on them. T/C also used an identical sight not made by Williams.  I dont shoot scoped pistols. I have been replacing my standard iron sights
 with the saddle sights mainly cus they look so boss. With dual set-screws they are a little slow to adjust and they do snag on things. But to me, they are the scoop on the hood of a '65 GTO. I like them and I buy them, I have many unconverted barrels.
   An early version [I have one] uses knobs to adjust, instead of slot-screws. Hard to find.

 The picture shows the T/C sight on the left, Willims on the right [white lettering].
