Source for Sauer 202 barrels?
« on: November 30, 2003, 02:52:34 PM »
I've gotten myself into a couple of different Sauer 202 rifles this year and would like to add a new interchangeable barrel or two.  I don't find much listed about sources for these - anyone have some insight on a supplier?

Thanks, Q

How are those 202's working out for you-----I'm considering a NIB Sauer 90 .458 Win mag.

Just not sure if I'm up for that big of a cannon or not.

Well, I don't know about your ability to tolerate recoil - but the gun is likely pretty good.

I've found the 202 to be the nicest out of the box action out there.  Its just so smooth that most people who handle standard commercial actions are amazed - it simply doesn't feel like anything else.  The fit and finish are exceptional and accuracy is very good with the factory ammo I shoot.  I would be remiss if I didn't mention the amazing wood stock and finish.

The ability to mount a high quality scope on the action - and then change the barrel to a different caliber is attractive to me.  A few shots, and I can get back to zero with the new caliber.

There are three kinds of men. The ones that learn by reading, and the few
who learn by observation. The rest of them have to pee on the electric
fence.

Joe, thanks kindly for that information - I'm going to contact them directly on Monday.

I'm looking to add a barrel or two, and in the process ran across a VERY attractive price on a couple of new magnum barrels.  They retail on Sig's price list at over $500.  These are less than half of that.  The magnum won't fit my standard action, so if someone is interested, I probably can help you out if you drop me a line.
