Savage '99 Trigger
« on: July 26, 2010, 01:17:45 AM »
I have a 1953 model EG and I like everything about the rifle EXCEPT the trigger! I did have a local gunsmith who self proclaims he was "weaned" on '99's look at it, and quite frankly his "adjustment" did nothing. The trigger is crude (a lot of creep/too much pull ) and I would like to get it cleaned up, realizing one needs to VERY careful to accomplish this. I have searched numerous sights to no avail. I realize this topic has been beat to death in the past, and I apologize. I just cannot come up with any surefire source or info to assist me. I would rather not have to ship the firearm to get it cleaned up, but will if necessary. Any help would be appreciated.

You might want to give this thread a read - besides a few triggermen/contacts, it also contains a few Savage 99 caveats well worth considering.
