Interarms (American made) 44 magnum
« on: July 24, 2010, 10:39:01 AM »
I was at the pawn shop today and they had a pair of Interarms made in USA 44 mag single action revolvers. 7.5" barrels. They were stainless and looked to be almost new. The pawnbroker said that Interarms set up a factory in 1974 and manufactured pistols here for about 3 years. They were $379 each. I'm not interested in them but thought I would see if that sounded like a fair price for them.

I'd say that was a steal.  A buddy of mine, who is a gunsmith, recently had to testify to the value of one of those interams virginia dragoon single action 44 magnums.  Apparently the guys soon to be ex wife claimed it was worth $30,000 dollars in thier divorce procedings.   His was in 85-90 percent condition and valued at around 300 dollars.  So I guess you can look at this one of two ways,  like the wife and then that is the deal of the century at 379 or like my friend and probably a fair value if they are like new.

I guess the lady's lawyer asked "if this was a colt piecekeeper couldn't this be worth 30k,"  he answered  "possibly, but its not a colt!!!"

Thanks guys. Lloyd I thought it was just about right too. I wish I was in the market for one as they have a 90 day layaway if you can't pay cash.

That sounds like a fair price. If I had seen those at least one would have been adopted on the spot.

In my area $379 for a 44 Stainless no less is unheard of . I got one hell of a buddy deal on my SBH $280 out the door. But this is the same guy that sold me my first 44 mag rifle and then my first 44 mag revolver, The rifle was the older deerfield Ruger and I picked it up for $165+tax And I will never forgive myself for selling that rifle...

I say grab them up and give us guys a chance at them for that price hahahaha Or just grab one for a future CHRISTmas gift ;)

Everything at a pawn shop is usually negotiable. Id offer 300 or 325 and haggle from there. Worst he can say is no,then you can still buy it at 379 if you want it.  280 is real good on a SBH,Im jealous,I just threw down 450 for one and felt like I got a good deal.
