You remember First Shot Friday's?
« on: July 16, 2010, 10:46:05 AM »
Well here is another one I called for today.  Sitting on your butt on the ground, one package of ketsup suspended inside of a water bottle suspend 12" and 2" out away from the target bale.  I was not partisipating in this one since I called it, but I wanted to shoot the Bear Super Kodiak and instead of pictures, I made a video of it.

I got real close, but didn't hit the package of ketsup.

Good shooting and a good video.

Good shooting and a good video.

Glad you liked it.  I figured anyone can just post any picture they want after they have walked up and stuck an arrow in the target if they are a bad shooter.  It is an event that we have that is based on trust, but I wanted to get some video footage doing it as it happened  ;D

Swampman if you come over to the link in the bottom of my youtube discription, its just another good place where us traditional bowhunters hang out, and great place to hang your hat too.

Well its not Friday, but I had to see what some other arrows would do from the Super Kodiak.

Looks like a great target. I'm going to have to try when I can shoot again.

Saturday morning I had to try it again, but with a differant arrow this time.  I used an Easton 2020 cut at 29.75" with a 160 gr tip.  I got back to repeat the shot, but again it would not be counted for the FSF event.

Yep, you did as its done with Traditional Only bows.  One arrow is all you get  ;D

I love these CX Heritage 150's with the 165 gr FP's.  I also like using a clean target cover if competing, but I'm not today as I just wanted to shoot the event with the rest of you.  I had a slight wind blowing, which gave the bottle a bit of a swing.

Sitting on my butt at 10 yards.

Bow used:  76 Bear Super Kodiak 55# recurve.

Awesome shooting Cotton!

Thanks, I love doing these events over there.  Several guy's are showing improvement in their shots, as its all about honing the skill no matter the style you use wether it be snap shooting, instinctive, freestyle or gap shooting, its all good if we get the arrow there as accurately as possible.
