Win 94 30-30 Opinions

I have the opportunity to buy a 1991 Win 94 in 30-30. This gun is in excellent condition and with no sratches or pitting. Looks to have been fired very minimally. What I wanted to know is your opinions of the 94 in this year and what you would think it is worth?

IMHO, Winchester 94AE's are "ok" - and generally fine shooters.

I wouldn't want to pay any more than about $400 for a standard carbine in NIB condition, and less for less condition. YMMV, of course.
There were some specially-decorated models, IIRC, that would be worth more $$$, though.

Thanks Ranger! That is exactly the kind of information I am looking for. This gun is not a specialty gun. It is your run of the mill 94 and in excellent condition. I just thought it would be an excellent open sights truck gun.

I own two Winchester model 94 rifles chambered for the 30-30. I
love both and have great respect for the rifle and cartridge. They
are utility rifles in a compact, relatively lightweight package. The
cartridge has enough power for most North American game and is
legendary for its use on whitetail deer! Enjoy your find. Most of
the ones I have found like yours run between $375 and $550,
...perhaps more or less depending supply and demand.

Own two a '66 30-30 and an AE in 45 LC late 90's both are excellant shooters!    Just something about the feel of a Winchester you know your holding a rifle! Love my Marlins, but the feel of the Winchester is special!

I wouldn't sell my scratched up mod. 94 ,7X30 waters AE rifle (24 inch bbl) for $1000.00 incase any are interested in how I feel about them . Saw a 32 speical mod 94 that was unfired in like new condition made in 1958 sell for $500.00 . Most 30-30 in nice condition go from 300 to 400 around here , condition means more than year made if after 64.

I love my angle eject 94 in 30-30. It put 2 bucks in the freezer last year and will be used again this season. It rides behind the seat every place I go. I have used it on coyote and put down a horse that was hit in the road. I do not care for scopes on my lever guns, and the factory iron sight is poor in my opinion. It now has a williams fp sight and a marbles front gold bead. That really was the best mod for the gun. The gun is worth exactly what your willing to pay for it, but a clean shooter should be in the 350- 400 range.
