Refinishing a Synthetic stock?
« on: June 29, 2010, 06:19:06 AM »
With Dick's sale on this week I can get a .223 Ultra Varmint ofr $20 more than a standard Handi .223 at Walmart.  The Ultra is hands down the better rifle, but I'm not a fan of the camo pattern on the synthetic stock. Has anybody ever refinished a synthetic stock? and if so, how did it turn out?

I did one for my brother using the Krylon plastic paint.  Cleaned it with alcohol and painted.  It's held up several years now.  Of course we went the opposite way of you, we painted his black stock camo. :D

just swap the camo stock for a new or like new plain black stock set here in the WTT section. I am sure you will find someone to trade with....<><....:)

I was actually thinking of making it Tan or Olive, but I might just trade....

Some folks may be willing to trade for those camo's, or wanting to buy them.

Being synthetic, you can paint them if you like.   Duracoat is a pretty good paint for suck things.
