NO ! ! - It is against Federal Law to shorten a rifle barrel beyond/shorter than 16", with an OAL of 26", w/o first getting Fed approval/permit/license/stamp.

IOW, you can make a rifle out of a handgun, but not a handgun from a rifle.

The Mare's Leg & Ranch Hand actions were factory made as handguns, and so noted to the Feds on their import paperwork.

I've looked at the Italian model, but they wanted $1200.00 for one! :o  I think the Rossi would be very easy to handle in my 6 wheeled Ranger, full sized gun is a bit cumbersome in the cab of that thing.  Just the ticket for running around the property.  DP

It's available in 357, 44 mag, & 45 Colt.  It's about 2 feet long.   It's really cool looking but my Redhawk will do the same thing but in a MUCH smaller package.
