Survivor 308 stock & accuracy questions
« on: June 24, 2010, 04:05:42 AM »
Hello,
I've been trying to find some detailed pictures online of the H&R survivor stock and haven't come up with anything that's usable yet.  I'm just trying to see what the storage compartment looks like and what all can be stuffed in there and how many rounds it holds.

Anyone have one and care to brag about the accuracy?

You ain't gonna' store a whole lot of stuff in  there.  You can probably get some fire material, fishing lines, etc.

As far as accuracy, I use the same receiver for my Versa 22 bbl. and my 357 barrel with a Survivor stock set.  Both give stellar accuracy.

It's one of those things where this stock fits some folks, but not others well.  My son in law traded me for a pallet wood, because the Survivor just didn't fit him.  He is 6"3" and about 290lbs.  I weigh 175 and love the stock.

I like the survivor set for bench shooting. The stock is a little shorter than a regular handi stock set but it fits me good... I'm like Mechanic... 175 pounds and 5'11"... if you're bigger than it might be a little short for ya.

I Love the Survivor stock. I have the one below on a 30.06 and the contents are pictured:

Leatherman II
whistle
mini bic
matches
super mini mag flashlight AAA
super glue
magnifying lens
(2) vacuum sealed kits
one has a mini compass, wire, 100' 25lbs spider wire, fishing hooks
other has band aids, tylenol 3's, aspirin, mole skin and another flashlight.
Big square of tin foil

Not pictured but in there is a red bandana.

Also, there is an empty cave in the palm swell and I pack that with 25' of 550 para cord!

I keep some ammo in that carrier on the stock and more on me within close reach. But never need more than One!  ;D
