Good luck.  I have (2) 995 9mm carbines, but the .40 caliber is a bit harder to get around here.  In about the last 3 years I've seen (2).  One was at the shooting range and the other was a gun show priced at $349.95.

I recently purchased a 995TSFG here in VA at a gun show.  The dealer had both 9MM AND 40S&W ($269 and $279)...he only had two of each, which sold in about 2 hours.  He said that the 40S&W was becoming more available and he should have more coming in.  Shot mine this weekend...very satisfied so far.  I don't even think it's ugly.  I would check out the gun shows in your area, you may get lucky.

My wife just got the new 4095. a couple of weeks ago. She has a 995 for 5 years and has shot it a lot.

The biggest improvement to the new 40sw is a nice recoil buffer and of course styling changes from the old model. You don't even feel the recoil. I think she has shot it for perhaps 2oo-250 rounds. No stoppages. Just normal function.

It is a nice way to get another 200fps from a 40.

Surprised to hear that you were seeing them for over 300 dollars. Hers was 245 including tax.
