Pete: Add it all up and see how much ammo you could have bought....aahhh but the company was great I bet.

My birthday is coming up Thursday, so all I asked for to cover Father's Day and my birthday was to get a job this Wednesday...and I did not play the lottery for a week here, as I thought God would consider it a bit too selfish wanting a job and lottery win in the same week...and you really know you're getting old when you ask for just one gift from your family - a long-handled shoe-horn! ;D

Brian, the long handled shoe horn tells me it's a crappy time of your life to be looking for work.  Patty is a Contracts Administrator for K&K Industries and their satelites.  Times are tough, but they're doing very well.  Just now, I think they have about 30 million in work ahead of them.  All due to Patty's hard work, great proposals and the company's superb track record.  Patty's 69 in October and still logging 50 - 60 hours a week, not including stuff she takes home.  I try to help by proof reading and doing computer stuff on the proposals.  In turn, the owners take very good care of us.  A bonus this Spring was a $15,000 Geothermal heating and A/C system.  I believe she's getting a new Pickup for her birthday.  She's got to retire at 70, and I haven't a clue how they're going to replace her.  She grew up with the company, knows the Government Contracting Officers, all the Sub-Contractors and all the vendors.

Good luck with the new job.......and getting older too.

I still have my 7.62x39mm hens tooth in the box with tags still attached (never fired)  that I bought about a year ago from a road side gun shop in Oklahoma. I am wondering how many new ones still exist?

DP, I can't afford land in your "Gods Country".  I bought my 120 acres, house, barn, etc. for 70 thousand 20 years ago in my "Little Gods Country".  Lets say, with the improvements, I could sell it today (in this rotten market) for 300 thou; what could I expect in Montana?  But ya know, DP, there's another thing.  Its community.  We've been here 20 years, know everyone...the good and the bad.  I can hunt and fish on 1000 acres of private land.  I can deal with a handshake anywhere.  How do you reestablish that at almost 70 years old?

Love ya buddy,

Pete

Good question.  I was stunned to be able to find mine.  All I had was a mere glimmer of a faint hope.  There can't be a heck of a lot of them roaming around loose, especially with the very kind, sharing, efficient scroungers here on GBO.  If anyone locates a "Find" they don't need, it is posted here and another lucky person gets a shot at it.

Pete,
Now you're really making me wish I would have bought one of them for myself. :'( Oh well, If I can't have one at least a buddy of mine can. :)  Another one will come along one of these days and I'll have the $$ then. It's just a matter of time, just like those old muscle cars sitting under an old tarp back in the barn and found 30 years later in mint shape. :D

Thanks, Dinny

Petemi, my bad back cannot handle the cold of the U.P. winters, but I always considered that to be 'God's Country'.  Sounds like you have a 'dream' place there!  Enjoy it!
For those who want to know, jobs seemed pretty available in central Texas when we were down there last winter.  44 Man

Just got back from Michigan.
Can't believe I missed meeting 44 Man and Woodsrunner.
Guys we have to start doing better letting each other know when we are traveling.
Looks like we need to give a weeks notice, so meetings can be arranged if wanted.

Anyway good visit. Mom looked good, step-Dad is better.  Three of my brothers showed up so a mini-reunion.
We gave my step-Dad a Marlin 1894C 357 Mag w/1-4x Bushnell.  Brothers and I had to help him sight-in  ;D
Of course we had to help him with all of his rifles. ;D
His shooting bench is on his deck, VERY nice.

PETEMI- I live near Clare, near the original Jays.

44Man- do you remember back when, when Jay sold guns out of his garage? That's been a while ago.

I'm not allowed to go to Jays by myself. Either I spend money (imagine that) or the wife is afraid she didn't get to spend some at Jays. Oh, well!

Just waiting for the storm that's headed our way. Have a good day all--woodsrunner
