I'm new to the forum....so hi to all. Iwonder what everyone thinks is the better deal, a new T3 lite syn blue in7mm 08 for 419.00 or a used ruger Mkll 308 with a BL 3200 3.5-10, laminated stock stainless for 539.00 or new Browing A-Bolt in 25-06 wood/blue for 549.00 I can't decide and need some help. Thanks to all

The A-Bolt is a great gun and a great price.  I am still trying to figure out why everyone has their panties in a wad over the T3.   Plastic magazine, plastic trigger guard, ok shoots good and is smooth but so what.  There are lots of accurate guns out there that are just as smooth for close to the same price and made of metal to boot.   I was shooting my Ruger M77 in 25-06 today and putting three shots through one jagged hole at 100 yards.  Very good cartridge.  The A-Bolt is also top performer.  Assuming you are shooting deer, my advice is go with the new Browning.

Tikka-3 in 7mm/o8 is probably the best deal.   If the Mk ruger is a good shooter why is it for sale? I don't know about the browning but I prefer a syn. stock for hunting. Also you can take the $140 difference and put it on  toward  a scope. The 7mm/o8 may be a little more versatile on big game.

The azshooter is giving wise advice.....don't skimp on quality. the quality of your new rifle will be remembered long after the price is forgotten. I recently purchased a Rem. model 700  BDL custom deluxe...25-06 and as  azshooter told you about his M-77 ......TACKDRIVERS!

Tikka rifles are excellent.  Although I do not have any experience with the T-3.  Tikka's have a good reputation for a reason, they are excellent shooters. They would not be so popular if they were just a flash in the pan/fad.   But the Browning A bolts have a good rep also.  They dont appeal to me, but that is why there are so many gun manufacturers . . . right - cuz different things appeal to different people.  I would definitely prefer the 7M-08 caliber over the 25-06 and do not see why you would want both.  But then, if you want it why not.  So far there is no law against it. :-)

Zappa,

Go with the A-Bolt.  I have no liking for anything that isn't wood and blued.  Plastic stocks have a tendency to sound like a toy drum if you bang it against something and stainless shines like a mirror so you can signal passing planes while hunting.  Had one(Ruger M77 All-Weather in .308) and won't ever have another.  Besides the .25-06 is a favorite of mine.  Lawdog

I would say the Tikka in 7-08 would be the best choice. 8)
