this is my 220 swift-qt rechambered kiyot killer
it has very picky personallity when it comes to feed'n time. i have always fed it nosler's
and i wanted to try something new, which the nosler's have always done me gud and will continue too.
just wanted to see how she likes the hornady menu......in a very light to calm wind from right to left
all shots are for 5-shot grouping and not for accuracy @ 250yrds, the last picture just happened
to be purdy close to my kinda shoot'n.
first is the hornady 55gr spsx #2260 @ 3808fps~
second is the hornady 60gr v-max #22281 @ 3672fps~... top hole is 2 shots
last is the hornady 75gr a-max #22792 @ 3331fps~
i did try some 40gr v-max @ 4212fps but it did'nt make it to the berm before come'n apart
fast twist prolly would not stabilize it.
we did'nt see any dirt fly in the 15ft high, 20ft wide berm and the sod was not torn up around it.
i guess it vaporized
or went into orbit !!!!
i need one of them 22-250 1:14 barrels for them lil'uns....
all pressures were below max according to my piezo-tran 55-58K very close to what my software predicted
and used infared scan to determine barrel heat between shots
this time in the test cell i was'nt using the lead sled.... i had the zero-max in the picture above
ifin ya wonder'n bout tha glass .....its one of them cheapo 8-32x50 a/o wally specials
i like it..... and tha kiyots die over it !!!
