Hi All:  I just received this e-mail.   Thought it interesting enough to share with you.

Replacing Michelle:

At the top right hand corner of page 17 of the New York Post, January 24, 2009, was a column entitled, "Replacing Michelle" in the National Review, The Week. Here it is, as it appeared, below:

"Some employees are simply irreplaceable.  Take Michelle Obama: The University of Chicago Medical center hired her in 2002 to run 'programs for community relations, neighborhood outreach, volunteer recruitment, staff diversity and minority contracting'. In 2005 the hospital raised her salary from $120,000 to $317,000 - nearly twice what her husband made as a Senator. Her husband, Barak Obama, had just become a US Senator.  He requested a $1 million earmark for the UC Medical Center, in fact.  Way to network, Michelle! Now that Mrs. Obama has resigned, the hospital says her position will remain unfilled.  How can that be, if the work she did was vital enough to be worth $317,000 ? Let me add that Michelle's position was a pa rt time, 20 hour a week job."
Enjoy your rights to keep and bear arms.

You know, I just watched "The Untouchables" yesterday on DVD.  The post above has Sean Connery's voice in my head as "Jimmy Malone" saying, "That's the CHICAGO way!"

Read about this awhile back. A prime example, of why this country isn't going to make it. Probably 80% of the population hasn't heard or paid attention of this. And out of the 20% that keep up with this, 5-10% thinks this is perfectly ok. Very few see the scam going on. All the wasted money by state and federal people. Pelosi's new plane to travel back and forth from Ca. to D.C. Retired politicians with 100% health care, and retirement, all being footed by the American taxpayer. Not much longer I think!gypsyman

Don't look at me; I didn't vote for the crooked s.o.b., or his wife.

Something don't quite make sense with this story. There had to be more money involved, otherwise it don't add up. If she took the job in '02 at $120,000 until '05 when she went to $317,000 and I assume she worked until '07 or '08 that means they payed her between $1,311,000 to $1,628,000 to get $1,000,000 in return. If that is true it is no wonder the health care industry is in trouble.
