Dad    Just recently picked up my new 30 30. It is probably the best shooting, out of the box handy that I own.  If you are a reloader, things get even better. I have been loading the 125 gr bullets and she likes just about any of them I put down the tube. That 30 30 cartridge is an awsome little round.
Go ahead and jump on one. You won't regret the purchase.

                                Good shooting to you

What load are you using, Jim?  I can't get mine to shoot 125's worth a hoot.  Grouping on the order of 5" at 100 yards.  I've tried 4895 and 3031 and so far, none of my 125 grain loads shoot worth a flip.

I've loaded some 150 Hornady spitzers with 4895, 3031 and RL15. Tomorrow I'll give those a run downrange.

PAWPAW     I'm using some 125 gr. Blem bullets that I got from Midway. They are Polymer tip BT. I use 29 gr of H 4198 and 32 gr. of H 4895 with the col at 2.685. Both shoot with good MOA. These are the only ones I have used that gave me what I was wanting.  Probably will look no further for a new load.

You can't beat a 30-30 Handi. ;D Mine shoots good with any ammo I've tried in it. Very accurate with factory Remington Core Lokt ammo.

Before I started loading, my 30-30 handi with a blister-pack Bushnell scope would shoot a 2" group at 100 yds with the cheap Federal Eagles from Kmart. Then I started loading, spent a lot of $$$, to get it to shoot 1".

The difference between people who do stuff and people who don't do stuff is that the people who do stuff do stuff.

I too love my new .30-30.  It shoots MOA with open sights right out of the box.  I moved the windage just a hair, and it's right on with 170 gr. Win Silvertips.  I've got bullets and dies coming to reload for it.  More than 50 years ago, when I bought my Marlin 336 .30-30, I got a box of the Win 170s and never looked back.  The Marlin always shot them great, and now the Handi is doing the same thing.
