12ga slugs
« on: May 20, 2010, 01:23:53 PM »
I am wanting to know what some of the best 12ga shotgun slugs are, for now I am just using remington sluggers which are just rifled slugs nothin special but I might get a rifled barrel for my NEF single shot shotgun and wanted to know what some good slugs are for that I am remington fan but I would be glad to hear other opinions I was looking at the remington accutip slugs and remington buckhammers. So for this I am looking for sabot slugs

Thanx guys ;)

Winchester Partition  , Hornady SST ,  Lightfield EXP , Remington copper solids. My 12 ga USH likes lightfields, There maybe others that I haven't tried yet.   It doesn't matter which ones I like, the trick is to find which one your gun likes.  You will just have to shoot 'em
My biggest fear is ( when I'm dead) my wife will sell my hunting stuff for what I said i paid for it.

I've got a Handi Tracker ll in 20 gauge rifled barrel, and I've shot, the Copper Solids, and Hornady SST's and I wasn't at all impressed with the accuracy, but the best results both on the target and on game has been with the Remington Buckhammers.

I've shot two deer and neither went over 40 yards with a massive blood trail, and two small hogs that were right at 50 yards, dropped on the spot, and I put the slug right behind the ear where I was aiming.

They are deadly accurate out of my gun, and 1oz. of lead flying true to the target will get your game every time.

I won't shoot any other slug out of my gun but the Buckhammers from now on!
My culled down Handi's are the 45-70, and then I have a few others to keep it company...357 Mag/Max. .45 LC/.454 Casull Carbine, .243 Ultra, and 20 gauge Tracker II.

lightfield times 1, I bought a looks to be a copy of a remington 11-48 I paid a measely $175 for it at gander Mountain. I live in a shot gun state. I mainly use my ML'er but I figured at that price what have I to loose. After getting it home I loaded 4 three inch lightfields went out back shot all four w/o a hang up. Fed, fired, and ejected fine. Now to get to the range to see how the accuracy is.Lou
