peeps in general.
« on: May 13, 2010, 06:40:07 PM »
My Son shot an old 22 with peeps sights last week and loved it. My first question: Is there any peeps that match up to the scope mount screw holes for my 336cs? Or are there rear peeps that will hook onto a scope rail or would that make it way too high? Second question - How about for use on any .22 clamp on the groove that is used for a scope? As you can tell I am very new to peeps and these may seem like dumb questions but if it helps him to hit better I want to help.  Oh and the Seneca we have has a hole tapped for a tang peep, I just do not know anything about how to even know what to look for.  The .22 he shot has a standard post front sight and a peep with a hole so small I thought we would have to ream it out but once outdoors I was amazed how well you could see through it.  So any ideas you have that may help us along would be appreciated. Thank you, thejanitor

Check out : Williams and Lyman Peep sights.  They have peeps that match up to some, as in the 336. :)

[Is there any peeps that match up to the scope mount screw holes for my 336cs?]

Yes, Wliiians Gun Sight Co & Lyman gun Sights both make side mounted peeps that bolt on, and  XS, Williams & Skinner make top-mounted peeps that utilized the scope mount base holes in the receiver top.

[ are there rear peeps that will hook onto a scope rail or would that make it way too high?]

Yes, two companies make/sell them - New England Custom Gun (NECG) and XS Sights. BOTH require  that the front sight blade be replaced with one higher than normal.  Tim Skinner will custom make ANY height front sight blade for $15.

[How about for use on any .22 clamp on the groove that is used for a scope?]

NECG (New England Custom Gun) makes/sells one, and Williams Gun Sight Co makes sells three.

[the Seneca we have has a hole tapped for a tang peep, I just do not know anything about how to even know what to look for.]

T/C makes/sells a tang peep that will bolt up @ $50. from the T/C Custom Shop, Fox Ridge Outfitters:
