Sharpening Serrated Blades
« on: April 27, 2010, 01:44:35 PM »
What is the best way to sharpen these blades? They have awsome ripping power. I carry a Spyderco Endora fully serrated for self defense only (backup to my pocket 9mm) but I use a Spyderco half serrated as my work knife and need to sharpen the serrated part. I take it they can only be sharpened on the groove? Lemme know.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hjzcMrlaP58.  I don't own any serrated knives, never have, but there's a lot of info on Google.

Most serrated blades can be sharpened by doing the flat side of the blade, the same way that you would sharpen a japanese chef's knife on the back side of the blade, keeping it as flat as possible to the flat side of the knife, and removing only as much material as needed to regain the sharpness you are looking for...steg
