Hellooooooooo.....anybody home?
« on: April 22, 2010, 04:43:17 PM »
Just stirring the pot of one of my fav post topics, PP bullets!

I'll soon be trying my Speer 250 swaged SWC bullets in my new T/C SS 12.5" 45/70 barrel. Shooting a handgun is one GOOD reason to shoot LIGHT bullets. I'll be 'reverse' wrapping for the left hand rifled barrel!

alan,
Let me know how those paper patch bullets work out!
I have been wanting to try some in my .454 Casull Encore 12" barrel. I wonder if it is a left hand rifled barrel?
Have you read any of the books on paper patching bullets by Paul Matthews?
I have all of his books and really are a wealth of information on bullet casting and paper patch bullets.
On your 45/70 barrel do you shoot open sights or use a scope?

I have both books, or I should say 'had'. I just gave my whole gun book collection [hundreds of books and magaznines] to a friend that opened a new gunshop. He is buying some and selling the rest. 40 years of gun book stuff!
I had The Paper Patched Bullet, and 40[?] years with the  45/70. Both great books.

Yesterday I reamed a new 9.3mm paper patch mold.  I hope to try it out between the next few highpower rifle matches.  I will post the results and pictures.  My next one will be 30 caliber.
