I'd like to hear from anyone who's shot both a .454 Casull and a .445 SuperMag. How do these two compare in recoil. I've been considering purchasing another 'big bore' handgun.
I'm relatively new to the 'big bore' game and don't know what my recoil tolerance is. I find 240gr JHP's over 36.5gr of AA1680 in my .445 to be downright comfortable. I could shoot those all day!
The biggest thing I've shot was a 14" Contender in 45/70. We were shooting Remington factory JHP's that were in the 300 - 350gr range. I can't remember. It was a friend's Contender. I wouldn't want to shoot that thing all day, but it sure made for a good time!
I don't know anyone in DFW who has a .454 that I could try, and I don't want to get stuck with a gun that I'm only going to lose $$ on.
Thanks,
