Looking at geetting one of these for a truck/backpacking gun. I allready have a RRA24"Varmiter that reallllly shoots, so I am not looking at match grade accuracy, but would like 1.5MOA & reliability. Can it deliver?

Sort answer, yes.The two I have had and the one I have now, if I do my part will equal you requirements.Like most weapons they are ammo sensitive,  most people will tell you not to use Wolf,Barnaul etc.The lacquer can be problematic.   I do not use them  at all. and have never had a malfunction, that I could not  relate to magazines.  hth    Doug

Thanks for the reply. I was looking at the full length, now looking at the Charlie because of the front sight mounting & threaded muzzle.

I have a SU16A,  that is now has a AR style collapsible stock, short handguard, and will soon have a Levang comp.   The SU16Charlie , stocks seem "'fragile" to me.      Doug

I had one of the SU-16 Charlies several years ago and didn't keep it long. I tried four different factory loads and a few handloads with groups going around three inches at 50 yards. There also were a lot of malfunctions and misfires. I thought it was about the worst POS rifle I've ever owned. It's a cleaver design but I'd take an AK over the SU and I hate AKs.

My brother picked his up, he also has a RRA as a primary 223. His has function flawlessly so far, we will check accuracy soon.
