Reloading question

i have a handi 25-.06, going to reload with a lee reloader, what dies will be the best.  i am new to reloading  rifle cartridges but have reloaded shotgun shells before many times.  didnt know if one was better than the other.  thanks brian

If you mean a Lee Classic loader, then, it all self contained. If you mean a Lee press, then you will need a set of dies. Since you are just staring out, I would get a plain jane die set from RCBS, Hornady, or Redding. You can save a little money by buying a Lee set, but I find I want some thing a little better after a while. I still like some of thier specialty dies, but that can come later. If you buy a delux Lee set they come with a collet neck sizing die. I hope I have not confused you. Oh and there will be every brand named mentioned before it is over here, every one has thier favorite. ;)

I just noticed this is under the Handi rifle section, you may do better in the reloading section. ;D

i understand what i need, i just didnt know if one was a little better than the other, if you know what i mean...lol...  i posted it here because i see many of you guys reload your own ammo. and figure i would start here.  i thank you very much.  oh by the way, if you guys got any recipes for some good shootin, let me know.  i love this rfle, and a good buddy of mine was shootin with me, and i let him shoot it.  at 200 yds. he hit the bowling pins, and fell in love.  i tried to shoot his remington 22-250, and got close... hehe..  but very nice rifles.. brian

My persoanl favorite for an inexpensive die set is Hornady, If I am going for some thing a little better I like the Redding competition dies (expensive). If you opt for the Hornady, you can add dies later, like a Lee neck collet die or a Lee Factory crimp die. In fact that is what I just did for a 7-08. I bought a Hornady set and then ordered a Lee Collet die to complete my set.

Looking for recipes?  My son's .25-06 really likes 50 grains of Reloder 22 with a 117 Sierra Gameking.

I started reloading late 2008, I started with a Lee Breach Lock single stage and a mixture of Lee and RCBS bits and pieces. I had to sell all that a little while back, so when I had a do-over, I bought the Lee Breach Lock Anniversary Kit and a little digital scale...it will be a while before I grow out of the Lee gear. It is well made and just economical to buy.

Hornady die sets are good. You might really appreciate the seating die which has a floating sleeve that holds the bullet in position when running it through the die. Nice to have with smaller calibers. A Lee Auto Prime priming tool is cheap and worth the money also.

Kork, I strongly suggest you get a good loading manual like Lymans, Hornady's and read the early sections carefully. 

From the wording of your question, I question whether you are ready to buy equipment and start loading just yet.

IN addition to any other equipment you get, I'd suggest an inexpensive 6 inch digital caliper and a good powder scale like offered by nearly all of the major makers. Oh and a couple more loading manuals - read them all.
