RECOIL PAD ?
« on: March 21, 2010, 12:58:34 PM »
I was looking threw a few old items under the work bench and found a old model PACHMAYR 880 MAGNUM RECOIL PAD
I would like to remove the factory recoil pad I wonder if the above pad would reduce recoil better then the factory 1" pad on handi factory rifle stocks?
The 880 has the XXX sides on the pad comared to the solid handi stock pad.
I was over at the pachmayr site seem the pad is a little too old for any info on the 880 on how good it will work.

If you can fit it to the stock..yes..it will do a much better job than the stock pad.

no problem fitting just a little grinding otherwise no problems
I find the recoil pad not a soft as the ones on boyds stocks that work real good,I pick up a thumb hole stock I think was last june when they sold them for $23.00 bucks I think man does it take up the recoil on the 30-06

Most thumb-holes will do that if they fit you correctly..That's why I ordered 2 of the new Handi Grip stock sets..Had the thumb-hole on my Optima Elite and loved how it soaked up the recoil of some serious bruiser 45-70 loads with ease..
